Historic House Markers |

Do You Own An Older Home In Hampton? Is your house noted on one of the early maps of Hampton or has it been mentioned in historic papers and books. Or was it built as part of the post WWll housing boom?No matter when it was built, it has played a role in the changing landscape of the town. The Hampton Heritage Commission wishes to invite you to participate and have your property recognized in the Historic House Marker Program.
The program is voluntary and does not impose any property restrictions. The markers will identify buildings of historical and architectural significance, and will serve to heighten community awareness, while encouraging the continued care and preservation of buildings and neighborhoods. These hand-painted building markers are custom made for us by Ould Colony Artisans. Featured on each marker is the date of your house’s construction and the Winnacunnet pine tree logo originally used during Hampton’s Tri-Centennial Celebrations in 1938.
Click here for tips on how to research your home's history. Applications should be submitted to the Hampton Heritage Commission, 100 Winnacunnet Rd. Be sure to include a check to OULD COLONY ARTISANS for $62.00 ($55.00 for marker plus $7.00 for shipping and handling). Instructions on how to research your home's history, applications and assistance are available from the Commission. The information will be reviewed and verified by the next regular meeting of the Heritage Commission, then forwarded to Ould Colony Artisans.
